FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH: How to Migrate EOS Saves to Steam

Want that special in-game bonus but have your progress stuck on EOS? Follow this tutorial to quickly relocate or download your save files into Steam’s directory and claim those sweet rewards!

 

Introduction

To unlock exclusive Summoning Materia in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, you’ll need valid save data from both Final Fantasy VII Remake and the EPISODE INTERmission DLC. The rewards are as follows:

Leviathan Summoning Materia
EPISODE INTERmission DLC
Ramuh Summoning Materia

Fully completed save files are not required. Any progress in the respective game or DLC will suffice.

Preparation Checklist

To proceed, ensure you have one of the following:

  • Access to the game through the Epic Games Store (to download cloud saves)
  • A Nexus Mods save file for the game
  • The Steam Cloud version of your save (if applicable)

You will also need your SteamID number.

SteamID & Folder Setup

Skip Step 1 if you already know your SteamID number

Step 1: Find Your SteamID64
  1. Navigate to your Steam profile.
  2. In the browser’s address bar, locate the URL:

    The long number (76561197986134810) is your SteamID64. If you have a custom URL, use SteamID Finder[www.steamidfinder.com] to retrieve your ID.

 

Step 2: Create the Steam Save Folder
  1. Navigate to:
    C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\

    Or copy-paste:

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\
  2. Create a folder named
    Steam
  3. Inside the Steam folder, create a subfolder using your SteamID:
    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\[STEAMID]

 

Save Data Transfer Methods

You only need to down one of the following methods.EOS Method (Epic Games Store), Steam Cloud Method or Nexus Mods Method.

Nexus Mods Method

Step 1: Download a Save File
  1. Visit the Nexus Mods[www.nexusmods.com] Page.
  2. Select and download the file (MANUAL DOWNLOAD)
Step 2: Extract and Transfer Files
  1. Extract the downloaded archive.
  2. Copy the .sav files into:
    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\[STEAMID]

You’re done. Launch FF7 Rebith and confirm your Bonuses in the Bonuses menu


 

Steam Cloud Method

Step 1: Download Your Steam Cloud Saves
  1. Visit the Steam Cloud Page.
  2. Download the save files.
Step 2: Transfer Files to the Steam Directory
  1. Copy the downloaded save files into:
    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\[STEAMID]

You’re done. Launch FF7 Rebith and confirm your Bonuses in the Bonuses menu


 

EOS Method (Epic Games Store)

Step 1: Install and Launch the Epic Version
Step 2: Locate Your Epic Save Folder
  1. Navigate to:
    C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\

    Or copy this into the address bar:

    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\
  2. Locate the EOS folder in this directory.
Step 3: Identify Your Epic Store ID Folder
  1. Open the EOS folder.
  2. Find the subfolder named with a unique alphanumeric string (your Epic Store account ID).
  3. Inside, locate files such as:
    ff7remake000.sav
    ff7remake001.sav
    ff7remake002.sav
Step 4: Transfer Save Files to the Steam Directory
  1. Copy the Epic save files.
  2. Paste them into the Steam directory:
    %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE\Steam\[STEAMID]

You’re done. Launch FF7 Rebith and confirm your Bonuses in the Bonuses menu
